LCD QVGA Arduino shield

Anyone managed to get one of these yet or have they just been permanently out of stock?

It's possible to use the touch screen functionality on Diecimila board ???

There are not free I/O pin, maybe I can use another ATmega168 as bridge between SPI touch screen interface and I2C bus on main Diecimila board, also using I/O pin on ATmega168/bridge .

Where I can look about ARM processor " arduino/C++ compatible " ???

P.S. The item are in stock and one is in transit to my home :)

I think you should be able to use all of the things on the board but maybe not all at the same time as disvussed earlier...

Anyway keep us updated. I will be buying one soon if they are in stock...

Very fast and accurate reply from support :)

This is the mail exchange :

Dear Luca SD card and touch screen use SPI bus. SPI bus using MISO, MOSI, SCK and CS (chip select). It can share MISO, MOSI and SCK. BL-TFT240320PLUS v2 using Arduino Diecimila digital pin 10 as CS pin to interface SD card. And digital pin 9 interface ADS7843 touch screen interface chip. Attach file is schematic arduino interface with BL-TFT240320PLUS v2.

We are in develop touch screen library for arduino using BL-TFT240320PLUS v2. and ARM is next.

Hi, thanks for your fast reply. Ok, now quite clear. I looked at this schematic : http://www.circuitidea.com/images/column_1259887831/BL-TFT240320PLUSv2%20schematic.pdf ...and the CS pin on SD and Touch Screen seemed only be HIGH via 10Kohm resistor and not connected also on Arduino pin.

;)

Board version 2 is release. Include DS1307 I2C RTC. Sorry for only 1 free ADC pin. But you can I2C bus for other interface. We provide some pad hold for general diy on I2C, adc and other SPI pad. Now you can do Time Data logger application.

library support lcd, font, touch screen, rtc, sd card. http://www.circuitidea.com/dev-board/BL-TFT240320PLUS-V2.html

I can't seem to find the "touch" library here (in the CID.rar file). Where can I find it?

Maybe this will help: http://www.circuitidea.com/Article/Calibrate-touch-screen-with-arduino.html

I have not got one yet, please keep us updated on your progress with it.

Mowcius

No, the code on that page references "touch.h" but doesn't define it.

Hmm yes I noticed that once I had sent the link. After some searching I cannot find it anywhere either. Probably just got missed out by accident.

Why not send them a mail about it?

It does look like a really good toy to play with and use with arduino. It may be the next thing I buy (well after the things I am currently buying!)

Mowcius

i too have purchased this shield. main problem is the example code will not compile for the sd card examples and the photo frame example with not compile also X_x

Still no touch library??

Dear all. Sorry. It's my mistake. I upload an old file(cid.rar). Try again http://www.circuitidea.com/dev-board/BL-TFT240320PLUS-V2.html

That worked! Thanks. I got it connected to my Arduino today and it works great.

I am so ordering one of these tonight!

This board is now available from the UK.

http://www.skpang.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=140_142&products_id=611

It includes extra long pins for use with Arduino. The supplied one are far too short.

Hmm so it is but from: http://www.thaieasyelec.net/index.php/arduino/3-2-inch-tft-touch-screen-with-arduino-interface-v2/p_68.html you can get it for £40 including UK shipping...

64.90 U.S. dollars = 40.2930403 British pounds

Or you can pay £50 + postage from: http://www.skpang.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=140_142&products_id=611

Longer headers are also something most people have lying around or they are only a few pence from most places

:-?

You have missed the Customs charge when it gets to the UK. Also Royalmail will charge you a handling fee on top.

Ok, 47.3443223525 including VAT at 17.5% plus handling charge of about £5...

How much is your cheapest UK postage? Less then £2.34?

Anyways, has anyone got any videos of theirs going yet?

How do the different chips hold up with sketch sizes?

Im having trouble getting the picture frame example working :frowning:

I think it has something to do with my sd card.

I can get SD_uFAT library working and can read the contents of a file that way but im getting funny results with the SDcard library?

little testing.
