LCD Start up Message

Hi all i am trying to make my lcd display two different start up messages on after the other before it starts the code loop. as the code is now it only displays the seconds message.

Here is the code

void setup() {
  Serial.begin(9600);  //Defines the baud rate the serial output uses
  Serial.println("DHT22 test!");
  pinMode(ledgreen, OUTPUT);  //Sets the Green led pin to output mode
  lcd.createChar(1, temp);  // create a new character labeled 1
  lcd.createChar(2, drop);  // create a new character labeled 2
  lcd.begin(16, 2);  // set up the LCD's number of columns and rows

  {
    lcd.setCursor(1, 0);
    lcd.print("Software_V1.5");
    delay(80);

  }
  lcd.clear();

  {
    lcd.setCursor(2, 0);
    lcd.print("MAKE IT SNOW");
    lcd.setCursor(4, 1);
    lcd.print(" .COM.AU");
    delay(80);
  }
}

Where is loop() ?

You do realize delay(80); is 80 milliseconds.

.

Try changing delay(80); to something like delay(1000); .

cheers lads all fixed

It was displaying your message but too quickly for you to see it :slight_smile:

Just remember the number between the ( ) is ms :wink:
