Lcd Top LIne scrolling Bottom line not to scroll

New to this please help this is my code so far.

lcd.begin(16,2);
lcd.clear();

}

void loop() {
// put your main code here, to run repeatedly:
lcd.setCursor(0,0); //sets to print on top line
lcd.print(“Matthew”);
lcd.setCursor(0,1);
lcd.setCursor(0,1); // sets to print on bottom line
lcd.print(“Ward”);
for (int positionCounter = 0; positionCounter < 13; positionCounter++) {
// scroll one position left:
lcd.scrollDisplayLeft();
// wait a bit:
delay(150);
}
}

From what I see you are getting a display full of characters. You need to print spaces to clear the line before writing the new data.

The scrolling is correct, but you want to print Ward on the bottomline. Ward takes up more than one position, so the words will overlap. You need to increase the position counter by a higher number or you need to print spaces.
After this you need to clear the lcd and you will start over again in the loop.

 for (int positionCounter = 0; positionCounter < 13; positionCounter++) {
    // scroll one position left:
   lcd.scrollDisplayLeft();
    // wait a bit:
   delay(150);
 }
