LCD wiring securing/soldering?

Hello Everyone,
Im trying to secure my wires onto the LCD but the pins are a bit short and I couldnt properly solder them in, Im using an adafruit raspberry pi. What is the best way to ensure the wires stick on to the lcd?

Your topic was MOVED to its current forum category which is more appropriate than the original as it has nothing to do with Installation and Troubleshooting of the IDE

Sorry, but I do not understand the problem

The key to good soldering is cleanliness of all parts, using a clean soldering iron bit of the appropriate size, flux cored solder (not lead free for me) running at the appropriate temperature, and for even easier soldering extra liquid or paste flux

Does that describe how you did it ?

No I just used a soldering iron, and it burnt the plastic off one of the wire. So my problem is you know the pins on the front of the LCD, I place my wires and they slip off to easy because the pins of the lcd are quite short. I just wanna know what the proper way is for putting the wires on the pins is.

Did the LCD come with the pins already soldered on ? Are the pins longer on one side of the PCB that the other ?

A clear photo would help to understand the problem

Where exactly are you trying to solder wires to ?

Your photo looks like it shows an I2C backpack soldered to an LCD, which is a common arrangement

You have a LCD with a I2C interface. Plug into the 4 pins on the side. Not the 16 across the top. Nothing connects to those short pins.

See this I2C LCD tutorial.
