Can someone venture a guess as to what the circuit in here looks like?
My previous thread about the analog night light circuit was very informative, but that was dealing with an LED powered by DC. Those night lights also came with incans with presumably a much simpler circuit.
So, how does it handle the switching of 120VAC @ 60Hz of ~1.25 Amps (150 Watts) with an LDR?
I've taken several of these apart lately and can post pics if you'd like.
I was amazed at how simple they are. basically just a transistor, LDR, a resistor or two, and a Zener diode. No board, just soldered leg to leg skeleton style.
Would love to see pics. I assume a pot could replace 1 of the resistors to allow for adjustable photosensitivity? Or would a pot change the brightness but not the trigger?
