LDT0 Vibration Sensor help

I'm looking to interface a couple of these LDT0 Vibration sensors in a project of mine. I'm using the vibration sensors to individually set off seperate pods of LEDs connected inside of my marching tenor drums. I want the lights to light up under each drum when I hit one.

Info: http://www.parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/prod/compshop/PiezoInfo.pdf

The simple circuit that they show in the info document seems pretty straightforward. What I need to now is how I would interface them into my code. I looked in the Arduino Playground and only found info on an elementary capacitive touch sensor. Would I need to use my analog inputs? (I only need to use 5 if I have to)

Here's a pic of the drum:

Thanks for the help!

Basically they are the same as the sensors used here:- http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Projects/ArduinoUsers#ardrumo

Use the same techniques. Only I would put a diode from the analogue input (anode) to the +5V (cathode) and another from the analogue input (cathode) to the ground (anode) just to protect the input of the Arduino from excessive voltage spikes.

Thank you very much! That’s about the idea I had in mind!

p.s. http://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/Knock – This helped alot too!
