Hi Makers,
There's anyone who know where I can found a Lead Free solder paste for better price?
I'm not interested to paste on Syringes but on jar that you can spread over the PCB after applying a stencil..for understanding like this:
http://www.ebay.it/itm/Tin-Solder-Paste-Lead-Free-Soldering-Sn-Ag3-0-Cu0-5-3-Silver-RoHS-500g-KOKI-1LB-/191265694970?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c8852e4fa
but possible with lower price (under 20 Euro) and lower quantity (for quantity I prefer as much as possible but with price lower than 20 Euro I think that it is impossible to find a lead free paste)
So please, help me about this research!
Thanks in advice
Lead free solder has a lot of silver in it, that is why it is expensive. Why do you want lead free anyway? It is way inferior to the leaded stuff anyway.
That link is a good price, perhaps because it is out of date.
This is more like the price:-
Solder paste
Hi,
I heard that lead free is worst than lead solder for solderability but I want to try it also because you can use lead solder only for personal use, because nobody will know that you used it, but if you want to send pcb to another person for example you can't use lead solder in Europe.
so if anyone know a cheaper lead free paste or better have tried hte paste on link (probably buy because cheap) please help me
Thanks
Some Pb-free solder has silver, some doesn't. The silver version is much more
solderable, especially by hand (probably less important for reflow).
Lead is highly toxic, why take the risk? You can get special soaps that are much
better and washing it off your hands than normal soap detergent (which are
hopeless).
The worst risk with lead is in dust form, since once particles get in your lungs you
are basically slowly poisoned for life, whereas normal ingestion is short term.
Moral is don't take an angle grinder to an old bit of electronics (however tempting
that may be).

Because the risk is absolutely zero.

Not if you like eating solder and/or electronic circuit boards!*
*The stuff that replaces lead in solder isn't safe to eat either.
Would have thought that leadfree is only required for commercial products.

For you guys across the pond read "French Fries" but it somehow doesn't sound as humourous

That proves that lead is toxic, because you are saying that due to the fact that you have to much lead in your body ![]()

Not necessarily. It could be the mercury in the fish.
