Setup:
Controlled by a Nano:
BTF-LIGHTING WS2812B ECO RGB Alloy Wires 5050SMD Individual Addressable 8X32 256 Pixels LED
order of operation: When the handle is undone 12v steady green LED strips are powered on by a relay. When the car is plugged in a CT detects charging current. this triggers a relay to drop out the steady green 12v led strips and powers on the 12v/5v power supply. this turns on 5v to the RGB matrix and 12v to the nano. once the nano is powered up; the lighting sequence starts with the slow blue pulse as the meter resets.
sometimes with power on the matrix goes full white. sometimes it goes full purple. sometimes random pixels are red/white. example videos:
the matrix is directly wired into pin 2 if that matters. the best I can think of is when the nano is powering on it does something funky on pin 2 that triggers it. once the nano is up everything behaves fine. Would a resistor on pin 2 resolve this?
Thanks
