LED matrix: If Diagonal on, Whole Array on. True or False?

2x2 led array.

When I have diagonal LED on the whole array is on. I believe this to be a normal consequence of the LED array setup.

Essentially is the following statement correct:
"IF the diagonal of an LED array is set to on THEN the entire array will be on."

Is this true?

P.S. this is using the schematic where cathodes make up rows, and anodes make columns.

If you need "help" then you post your code.

You should add a schematic of your circuit, too.

Doesn't sound like your multiplexing is correct if that's what you're doing.
