LED Strip Diffusive Tubing Ideas

I have several LED strips, all of them are 'non-waterproof' meaning they didn't come in a thin sheath. Didn't seem worth almost doubling the cost of the strip just for the outer layer and not having any say in the diffusive qualities of it.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experiences, preferences, recommendations, on types of tubing that would work to protect LED strips outdoors, basically only needing to waterseal the ends which is nbd.

Things like aquarium hose lines, they come in varieties of clear to diffused/frosted, for example

You'll probably find the best level of diffusion with silicone tubing. Other types will usually either be clear or opaque. The IP67 strips are in a rectangular silicone tube but I think you'll get better diffusion from the round tubing since it will be farther away from the LEDs. The thicker wall you can find the better diffusion you'll get. Silicone gets pretty spendy at the size you'll need for the strip but you might find a bargain on eBay. I bought a bunch of surplus tubing on there a while back for a super good price. You should be able to get a permanent seal with silicone sealant. Some has acetic acid in it which will corrode electronics so you might want to check on that(vinegar smell) but it shouldn't be a big deal if you don't let the sealant contact the electronics.

If it is this tubing, just buy the proper stuff:
