LED Strip, to MOSFET to PIR Sensor and maybe Arduino

Alright guys. So I have completed my first ever electrical project. Which is an LED strip under my bathroom counter that is motion activated when you walk in at night. I would at this point like to upgrade/tweak this set up so that it fades on. I have purchased an Arduino Uno. Could any of you give me any pointers or point me in a direction as to which I may find out about how to go about this idea?

The LED strip almost certainly draws more current than you can pull out of an arduino pin. So what you do is use a power transistor, with the Arduino pin hooked to the base of the transistor (gate, if you yse a MOSFET).
If you don't know anything about transistors, just go look up how to use one as a switch. Then operating the Ardino pin that controls it in PWM mode shoud give you a fading capability.

Very similar question here

Correct. It is a "similar question" glad you have shown your worth by pure remembrance. I followed his advice by not getting into everything at once. I have just completed my project by making work, however I don't have the Arduino included because 1- I'm not sure how to wire if in ref to the sensor, transistor, and LED. 2 - I'm not quite 100% sure of the code.

If you have a problem with questions I'd suggest you not even stop, waste your time and post.

Sorry I am in fact wanting to learn.

"If you have a problem with questions I'd suggest you not even stop, waste your time and post."

What many of us have a problem with is people wasting our time by asking the same questions multiple times. I think it's very disrespectful to PaulRB to abandon the earlier thread.

I think you've also alse been immensely disrespectful to AWOL who was doing a service to his fellow forum members by linking the your earlier (and almost identical) question.

And here.

You're welcome.

The "Same" question was not asked "Multiple" times. I took the advice of PaulRB and instead of trying to accomplish multiple things at once I researched and completed the first part of the project without the Arduino. Now that I have that working I asked the second part to see if anyone could point me in the right direction. DuaneDegn, I do not care what you may "think" because that is in fact what it is. A false thought/opinion. There is no need in you wasting my time by getting on my post trying to argue when I am simply asking for help. AWOL, once again I can clearly see both links. There is no need to keep posting.

If you want to keep talking about it being identical you are again incorrect. The first time I will quote myself in saying

" I have no idea how to set it up :-/ does anyone have any experience with this type of project?"

However this time I simply asked the following.

"Alright guys. So I have completed my first ever electrical project. Which is an LED strip under my bathroom counter that is motion activated when you walk in at night. I would at this point like to upgrade/tweak this set up so that it fades on. I have purchased an Arduino Uno. Therefore, you may move on. I will not waste my time arguing with a childish forum bully that instead of giving advice tries to argue. You didn't post any help on the first so what was the point of posting on this?

AWOL, once again I can clearly see both links. There is no need to keep posting.

But others may have missed them.
