I have no idea how to select the appropriate capacitance value for LF33CV (input voltage: 5V). Can someone help me?
The datasheet for LF33CV indicates that I should use 2.2 μF and 0.1 μF capacitors. Is it ok for this purpose?

Yes.
Datasheet says 2.2uF minimum, 10uF typical.
The example circuits show 0.1uF on the input and 10uF on the output.
