Light-Status via WiFi to a Server

Hello everyone,
i am planning a Project, where I have a simple Light-Detector on my Arduino.
Furthermore the Arduino should send the Light-Status via WiFi to a Server, where I could check the Status on my Smartphone while I am away.

The Smartphone thing is optional.
For the beginning I need to update the Status to a Server.

I will buy everything I need. So in advance I checked out the WiFly-Modul. But this seems very complicated, isn´t it.

Does anyone knows what to buy, or does anyone has a tutorial for me :roll_eyes:?
