[Lilypad] General Questions

Hello all,

I'm working on a project that will be wearable and I stumbled upon the Lilypad, the conducting thread, and the Lilypad vibe board.

For the lilypad, can normal wires with the insulated outsides be used with it?

For the conducting thread, I'm assuming its not insulated at all (not that 5V is really a problem), but are there any problems with it? Does it transfer essentially all 5V if applied from the board?

For the lilypad vibe board, does anyone know the range it operates in and how effective it is compared to http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8449? i'm looking in using the PWM outputs on the board.

Any help is appreciated.

Sure, you can use any wire with the Lilypad, as it is just a special form of the normal Arduino.

I dont know sure about the other topics, though.

Hey Alvin,

If you're still curious about conductive thread; no it doesn't carry all 5V. It has significant resistance. For more info check the 'read this before building anything' section: http://web.media.mit.edu/~leah/LilyPad/build.html

Other problems for me are just things like how easily it frays. Can't help you with the vibe boards though.
