Lilypad USB- can be safely powered by external smartphone battery?

Ir might look as a silly question, but there is an warning not to power this board by more than 5V,

I do not want to kill my Lily (I got the all 3 in stock here, and I need all of them).

Can be Lilypad USB safely powered by a LiIon powerbank via board micro-usb connector?

[Powerbanks - the ones that are widely used to charge the smartphones].

Yes they can be connected to the USB connector.
USB is rated at 5 volts and anything after the connector is regulated as needed by boards.

I ended up by using 3 x AAA piles, because the Lily is part of dancer's costume, so a powerbank proved to heavy :-).

To me, Lilys are a nightmare to wire. So I now still prefer the old horse Nano.
