I want to make fast Line following bot. :slight_smile: I have basic knowledge about microcontrollers or development boards. I know programming in java and c++ and have some experience in making manual battle bots but I am keen on starting with autonomous robotics. I have looked around this site but I still do not have a clear idea about the basics. Can you guys please list the components that I will need and if possible a rough guide about how I should get about building the bot. ;D Thanks :slight_smile:

I already have:
Arduino Duemilanove board(2009)- ATmega168
A pair of Photo-diodes,
IR LED's and resistors.
6 12v dc 300 rpm motor
7cm tyres

Probably best you purchase a small line following bot kit, and put it together as a learning exercise. Otherwise do a lot prior research and study in robotic forums and sites so you can ask specific questions.

no..i dont want to buy a kit and put it together..i want to make it from scratch..its a college project so i cant buy a kit..
