Super quick question.

I have this linear actuator that says it has a potentiometer in it.

What exactly does that mean?

Does that mean that the actuator can give feedback to the arduino when it encounters resistance or could the arduino know the location of the actuator?

The potentiometer can be used as a voltage divider, to determine the extension of the actuator arm.
