Linking Large Font to Variable

Hi Everyone,

I found this great example of how to create large fonts for a 16x2 lcd, but I can’t figure out how to link the large font to a variable. Here’s the code for generating larger than life numbers. It displays the large font and scrolls each number across the screen. Can anyone point me to information on how to link the custom characters to a variable?
