is there a list or any other source of information known about which Atmel SAM Chips are factory-programmed with the SAM-BA bootloader?

There is NO chip preprogrammed with the SAM-BA bootloader. You get a programmer, you get the chip, then you flash it.

LOL, what complete nonsense. Although in typical style, Atmel refer to the ROM bootloader as "SAM-BA" while there is also a PC software called "SAM-BA" which is the programming tool, so it's easy to get confused.
