And to think that two of my new projects use these...
For small things Li batteries can be pretty helpful, but for anything big (grid scale storage) or big and mobile (vehicles) you need a chemical fuel to get the energy density. Why so much messing around with batteries for this sort of thing when they should be investing in hydrogen distribution networks, note I don;t saying investing in fuel cell technology as that is already mature and effective, it is only the infrastructure which is lacking.
Hydrogen is extremely difficult to store because of the small size of the atom. It can leak out of very small cracks in tanks, pipes and hoses.
They are not source, just storage medium. Same as hydrogen unless you can mine it.
