Loading "Blink" sketch on Uno clone on OS X

Hi there,

I built a Uno clone from parts I already had (just had to modify the signature since I only had 328 without the P), but I am having trouble loading the Blink sketch. The bootloader was successfully loaded on it as the pin 13 LED flashes briefly when Reset is pressed. IDE 1.0.5 keeps on asking me to select a serial port, although I am using programmer USBASP that obviously is USB. In the serial ports list, I only find those linked to other devices on my Mac, Bluetooth modem connections.

What am I supposed to do from here?

Nevermind, I finally uploaded it, but what is the difference between "Upload with programmer" and "Upload"? Of course I am going to use a programmer, I don't understand the terminology here.
