Locker Door

Another Problem with my Locker Door's Gadgets

I'm Thinking about installing a light, but i need to know which switch will be able to automatically turn the light on when the locker door's open... any ideas?

If you wanted to use a microcontroller, any switch could do it.

If you want it to be a simpler circuit, you need a Normally-closed switch (it closes the circuit when it's not pushed).

A switch that can turn the power on and off...

What is it exactly you want it to work with? Do you have a link or anything showing what it actually is and how it works? If it is just some doors that close on the outside of the frame, just use a little end stop switch.

I think a magnetic contact switch like they use in burglar alarm systems would be good for a locker:

Check out our new shield: http://www.ruggedcircuits.com/html/gadget_shield.html

The DollarTree often has little magnet actuated LED lights made to go inside cabnets and such for $1.

Microswitches can be soldered either normally open or normally closed, so a microswitch, a battery, a resistor and enough LEDs to light up the space (and Ohm's Law) are all you need.
