Hey everyone!
I want to make embedded system for my UAV fixed-wings. That system will be used to read current and voltage parameters when UAV flies. I have read arduino documentation about wireless communication, and arduino uses Xbee modul. That modul has range up to 300 feet (eq 91.44 m) in outdoor application.
I need range up to 2 km. Any suggestion?
Thanks..
What country are you in? Longer range modules are available (see sparkfuns range) but the legality of these modules depends on where you are.
Different countries have different power limits for different frequency ranges, the frequencies the Xbee module uses are limited to (don't quote me on this) 5mw in USA (which equates to several Km) and 1mw (a few hundred meters) to the UK.
Thanks for your information Fulliautomatix. I'm from Indonesia.
Here, I paste the page link that provides products list of Xbee modul in Sparkfun.
~>XBee Buying Guide - SparkFun Electronics
My friend ever buy "XTend 900 1W RPSMA", it supports until 40 Miles. But, he said that Indonesia is ever banned by US-Sparkfun to buy that stuff for 1 years.
Afterall. How can I choose which one from that products list that support arduino uno 3 ?
Many thanks Dude..
Btw, here I paste how to interface Xbee modul with arduino. Hopely can be usefull fot each of you...
