Looking for a good temp sensor

I’m using an Arduino to read the temperature from a MAX6675 Module Board and am using the cheap K Type Thermocouple Temperature Sensor that comes with it as sold on eBay for less than 5 bucks. It’s working good for 400 degrees but I’m thinking that I might have problems with the quality of the sensor when I try reading a temperature of 2300 degrees Fahrenheit. Has any one here had any experience using this very inexpensive K sensor that comes with the MAX6675 especially measuring hi temperatures. Any comments will be very much appreciated...

You can try MAX31855. It is capable to read K Type in range -200°C..+700°C ±2°C or -270°C..+1372°C ±6°C with 0.25°C resolution/increment.

It is STRONGLY recommended to add a 10nF/0.01mF capacitor, placed across the T+ and T- pins, to filter noise/false readings on the thermocouple lines.

P.S. The MAX6675 range is only 0°C...+1024°C

You are at the top limit of a good K thermocouple. Different temperatures ranges use different thermocouple types. Below is a list, but it depends on the construction, wire gauge etc. Check with the manufacturer to be sure your choice will work. Some are very expensive.
