Hello, I'm currently working on a project (that I'm trying to make as cheap as possible) and I'm looking for a sensor that measures IF an object moves relative to a particular axis. So I'm not looking for the angle it turns. I just want it to tell me whether or not it turns in real time (Also I would like the axis it is turning from to be programmable). Thanks for the future help!
(Also I would like the axis it is turning from to be programmable).
I don't know what this means, and can't imagine the mechanical setup. Can you post a drawing?
I don't really know how to provide drawings as I am new to this website. Basically think of a plane of wood on a table in the x-y direction. If that plane of wood is ever lifted and moves in the z direction I need the sensor to send me a signal.
If you do not need to have the angle or the distance, you could simply use a switch. Using your example, if the switch is under the timber, moving the wood would cause the switch to change state.
Alternatively there are a large number of very cheap (a few dollars) spatial (XYZ) motion sensors available as modules on eBay which will give you motion and angle.
I don't think I would be able to use the switch (what if the original position of the table is already tilted like a stand up desk or something) could you link me to the cheap XYZ modules on ebay by any chance? Also are these sensors my cheapest option? Thanks for the help btw.
I guess you know the setup better than us, but it is hard to make suggestions without a better description.
