Looking for MAX7219+4D 7S Display library

Hello,

Can you guys please point me some library able to write numbers in a 4 digits seven segment display through this IC?
I'm already trying a few but they seem to be made to work with that kind of led cube rather than displays.

Guys,

I'm ready to test the LedControl library, seems it may work for what I'm looking for.
However I still have a newbie doubt, I don't want to damage my display...where should I attach resistors, digits, segments or both? (it is a CC display)

With a common cathode display, you only have to set a control bit on the chip and when you write the (3½ bit) numbers into the data registers, the corresponding numbers appear.


R1 is explained on that page, but 22k is usually fine.

The datasheet is rather useful.

About the capacitors, would this work without the 10uf one?
I only have 0.1uf atm and I can only buy components online, the shipping takes about 10 days :frowning:
Actually I got it working without any capacitor but I don't know...
