Looking for Rotary optical encoder suggestions

Hi,

I am looking to spend around $10(if possible) for a rotary encoder (optical preferred).

I am looking for an encoder with a high resolution. I would also like to the shaft to spin really smoothly. I understand you get what you pay for so I am willing to hear out any thoughts/suggestions.

I am creating a couple jogwheels for a DIY MIDI DJ mixer and I would like to go with high resolution encoders if possible (similar to what is seen below);
