looking for the right sensor

Hi,
I am looking for advice in choosing the right sensor for my project. I think it is easier to describe my project idea with the tail of a dog. I would like to detect movements. Therefore I would like to differ between the different movements. The most interesting one is when it moves the tail slowly up. The other possible movements are not important. I would like to be able to say it is moving slowly up or it is an other motion. But it would not be a problem if I could differ between more movements.
I hope my crazy description makes clear what I would like to achieve :slight_smile:

What sensor would you recommend?
Are Flex/Bend sensors or a triple-axis accelerometer a good choice or would you recommend other sensors?

u can use pir sensor .....
u can identify movements of human................

I should have mentioned that the sensor has to be mounted on my example (the tail).
