Looking to download Arduino 1.0.5-r2 for Mac OSx but I can't find it anywhere

I believe the files use to be available via this link, https://downloads.arduino.cc/arduino-1.0.5-r2-macosx.zip, but the link no longer works. Do you know where I can download these files? According to this page, https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ReleaseNotes, it was released on 2014.01.08.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I found the Windows files in the Google Code archive here:
https://code.google.com/archive/p/arduino/downloads
but there are not the OS X files.

Thanks for providing guidance on best practices pert. i'm new to the forums so guidance is appreciated.

Unfortunately, I'm not looking for 1.0.5 but 1.0.5-r2 for Mac OSx. I can find the release on the "Release Notes" page here, https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ReleaseNotes, but it is not present on the "Previous IDE Releases" page. Any idea where I might download 1.0.5-r2 for Mac OSx.

Note that I have asked this same question on the Arduino GitHub pages, see Looking to download Arduino 1.0.5-r2 for Mac OSx but I can't find it anywhere - Installation & Troubleshooting - Arduino Forum

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I realize that, which is why I said only the Windows versions are available from the link in my last reply. If you checked that link you would have seen that indeed I was talking about 1.0.5-r2.

I think it's unfortunate that they don't provide all the versions of the Arduino IDE that have ever been released. I don't see what possible harm that could cause.

Thanks for clarifying. Now I understand.

I don't think there ever was one. According to the release notes, the only visible change in the "r2" is signing the drivers for Windows 8/8.1 compatibility.
A quick diff of the r2 windows "hardware/arduino" directory vs the same directory in the Mac 1.0.5 distribution shows no other changes, either...
