Looking to make a Kahoot! physical remote. What would I need?

Phones are a problem in class, both because they're distracting and because some kids don't have them - and if the class found out they would die. Computers are slow to log on, taking 5-10 minutes of precious time per student to get them all ready. I realize that there are way more software hurdles, but cost is a primary concern, which is why I'm starting with parts. If I were to build a wireless remote that hooked up to a hub of sorts, how many Arduinos would I need for one four-button remote that could hook up to a computer wirelessly? What else might I need?

IF you are using WIFI and the phones are using WIFI, then the phones will interfere with the computer WIFI. I have this problem at home with a laptop that uses WIFI if my smart phone is near and using WIFI.

Can you explain more what this means? What would the function of the remote be in this case?
