Can you tell me a little more about your topology?

I am considering a Lora connection, not quite line of site, about 1.5 km with a gently rising and falling ridge in between.

Thanks.

Whether it will work depends on a lot of factors;

The data rate you need.
The antennas and cables in use at either end.
The height of the antennas at either end.
What type of obstructions and how many there are between the two ends.
The frequency you are going to use.

In general communications at UHF are at their best when there is line of sight between both ends. The difference between an obstructed view, say in an urban area and when there is good line of sight, can be vast, as much as 1500:1. The consequence of this is whilst a system might be capable of 1000km+ when there is good line of sight (and LoRa is capable of this) the range might drop to 1km or less in an urban area.

There are so many variables with a link that the only way of finding out if a link will work is to try it.
