I unpowered my CNC for 4 weeks to make some upgrades to the chassis and replace
a linear motion bearing. After powering up and opening Candle, it says there is no file.
Tried Open Builds, same thing, says its waiting for a USB. The transmit and receive data
lights are not flashing. Is it possible to lose GRBL just by the UNO being unpowered??
I always turn it off normally when not in use and never had a problem. I plan to reinstall
GRBL, if it's gone, or try and see what comes up. Any info appreciated.
I would say it's very unlikely, but not impossible. Has it been exposed to any X-ray sources?
No, we'll just reload GRBL.
Thanks.
You might have killed your unos usb port - or your computers usb port - or your usb cable is bad - or M$ did an OS upgrade in the meantime and replaced the CH3XX drivers with "better" ones (if you have a chinese uno clone)
It gets even weirder. GRBL was on the UNO, when plugged into COM3 on my laptop, Candle would not recognize it.
Moving to COM 4 it did, Conversely, Open Builds recognized COM3 but not COM4. And yes I made sure the appropriate
port was assigned in both Candle and Open Builds.
The miracles of modern electronics.
Thanks.
Better call it "the miraclee of micros***"
