Low-Cost Modbus Devices for Learning

I am based in India and keenly interested in learning about the Modbus protocol through practical implementation using an Arduino Mega and a TTL-RS484 board.

I am currently seeking advice or suggestions regarding low-cost Modbus slave devices, preferably temperature sensors or any other essential device suitable for learning purposes. My aim is to delve into the protocol with minimal investment.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or recommendations you could provide to aid my learning journey.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

My suggestion:

-20-400 Celsius PT100 Thermocouple RS485 Modbus Rtu Temperature Detector Tester

Make one..
Modbus 8 input 8 relays uno-mega
and look in the docs folder for some treasure..

good luck.. ~q

There are many free/Open Source PC implementations of Modbus that only require an RS485 adapter. I think I've even seen some which let you set up separate ports for receive & transmit so you can send messages to the same pc.
