M54532P Transistor Array to replace ULN2003A for High Current Motor???

Can the M54532P be used in place of a ULN2003A to control a motor that has a max current of 1.2A ???

The ULN2003A has a max current of 500MA

The M54532P looks to be a similar transistor array just with a max current of 1.5A

The Spec Sheet for the M54532P is below. I would be controlling 2 motors from the chip.

From the looks of things it seems to operate the same way the ULN2003A does, just wanted to get some feedback to confirm.
Or if you know of another alternative chip that would work for 1.2A that would be great also!

The only way that difference matters is for a very short time (pulsed). Neither is a good choice for driving motors that take even 500mA. With a Doglington (As Pancake calls it) for an output, the BEST you can do is a 1.5V drop, which equates to 3/4 Watts. You won't even be able to turn one channel on for very long. This will do it all day long and it's cheap.

No, darlington drivers generate so much heat that it will melt.

You need a MOSFET array, but they are as rare as hens teeth, so several
MOSFETs then.

By the way what kind of motor - the ULN2003 implies a unipolar stepper?

I love how these semiconductor companies try to out-spec each other. They are really dangerous to the newbie that believe any ONE spec is all you need. LOL
