MA40A5 + Arduino

Hello everybody !

I'd like to know if someone has already used the ultrasound emitter and sensor MA40A5.

I'm not sure if it's Arduino-compatible.
As it's 40KHz sound, I have no clue if the emitter is working...

And I tried to plug it like a passive buzzer, but nothing seems to be received.

Thank's,
Simon

Transducers like that are commonly used in ultrasonic distance sensors, like the HC-SR04.
You need additional circuitry to use it with an Arduino, as it needs a higher voltage swing than the Arduino can provide.
I think the HC-SR04 drives the transmit transducer with something like 30volt peak/peak.
Maybe easier to buy a HC-SR04.
Leo..

P.S.
A dog is a perfect test object for these sensors.
I knew one that ran the hinges from the door when you aimed a 40khz transmitter at him.
