MAC OSX installation failed

Using Arduino IDE 1.x

OSX 10.14.3 (mojave)
after downloading the software I connected the boars to the PC;
(Software works fine)

"On" led burns and "load" led blinks
No message on PC!!!!
No indication of a new network!!!
No arduino in finder

conclusion?;
OSX does not see the Arduino.

This was repeated on another MAC (older IMAC) 10.8.?
Same result (none)

please advice

Do you see the port of the Arduino board in the Arduino IDE's Tools > Port menu?
