I have a Nano V3.0 and there is no usbmodem tty port listed on my Mac. There are four Bluetooth ports.
I have tried everything I can think of - different cables (tested with external USB hard drives), restarting, the new beta version 2 app, editing the config file, making a link from a /dev/ttys000 port which is created when the Arduino is plugged in to /dev/tty.usbmodem and other stuff, all to no avail, I just get the four Bluetooth ports listed - any suggestions? I can see the following when the Arduino is plugged in:
FT232R USB UART:
Product ID: 0x6001
Vendor ID: 0x0403 (Future Technology Devices International Limited)
Version: 6.00
Serial Number: A601I7WY
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: FTDI
Location ID: 0xfa130000 / 6
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 90
I have tried this on my MacBook and MacMini with the same results. I tried a 2nd Arduino Nano too.
