Mac Serial Port problem

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could figure out whats wrong with my arduino diecimila. I just got it a couple days a go and I can't seem to upload anything to it. I'm running Mac OSX 10.4. When I open up the IDE none of my USB ports show up. I tried restarting the IDE while the arduino was connected to see if comes up but nothing so far. I have also tried restarting the arduino. Under Serial Ports I have 4 options:

/dev/tty.Bluetooth-PDA-sync
/dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-sync
/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Modem
/dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem

I've tried all of them and they don't work. As you can see I'm very new at this.
Thanks for the help.

Have you loaded the FTDI drivers? Plugged it into a different USB port, preferably one on the computer (not a hub)?

I'm having this exact same problem, with a LilyPad. I've installed the drivers (I tried twice!), and the LilyPad is plugged into a port on my Mac Mini- I've tried all ports. Is there any other possible solution? Thanks

How is the LilyPad connected? What ports do you see in the Tools > Serial Port menu?

The LilyPad is connected using SparkFun's LilyPad USB Link. I see the following ports:

/dev/tty.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync
/dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync
/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Modem
/dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem

These are the four built in ports on a Mac. This is what you get when the Mac sees nothing else plugged into your machine.

This means that either you haven't installed the drivers or you haven't plugged in the USB port or your board or Mac have a fault on them. If I was a betting man I would say you haven't installed the drivers.
