Macbook can not see Arduino MKR1000 hooked upto port

I am having trouble with my Macbook not being able to detect the MKR1000 connected to a USB port. It used to detect it, but not anymore. I am wondering if it might somehow be related to installing displaylink driver to drive a USB3 monitor on one of the ports.

I tried multiple usb cables, also tried to reboot the macbook with Arduino still hooked up, although Arduino board is powered up, I do not see on Arduino ide the port.

Have you tried to quickly double tap the MKR reset button ?
It should put it onto a new COM PORT in "bootloader" mode.
If you can get that far throw BLINK example at it which I have found helps clear the errant sketch.
