[macOS] Arduino software wants full keyboard monitoring

Hi,

I just installed Arduino (I'm using it with a Teensy 3.2). So I also installed Tennsyduino and tried to upload the first sketch. However every time I upload a new sketch I get the attached message by macOS. It says: "'Arduino.app' wants to receive all keyboard inputs from all apps." (translated from German). Then it tells me that I should grant access by going into "Settings" --> "Security & Privacy". But:

1.) That doesn't really sound good to be honest. I don't want that the software monitors my keyboard input.

2.) Even if I go to the security settings I can't enable the monitoring because the app is not listed.

Is this message normal? What should I do now?

Thanks and best wishes
Chris

One thing to note is that Teensyduino is not the same as the Arduino IDE. Teensyduino is based on the Arduino IDE, but it has some modifications. It would be interesting to know whether this also occurs with the Arduino IDE. I haven't heard of this problem before, though there is a possibly similar issue with macOS Catalina due to the Arduino IDE not being "notarized".

Which version of macOS are you using?

Over a year back I was also using the normal Arduino IDE for a project and there I didn't get this message. But that was also under High Sierra whereas now I'm on Catalina.

Edit: Just read online that the keyboard monitoring prompts are a new security feature under Catalina.
