I'm developing on MacOS Sierra, and I have been developing on 2 Arduino UNO boards. Both of them have been working fine till I used one board to work with an Adafruit Bluefruit LE shield, and all of a sudden the usbmodem port is not listed for this particular board, but for the other board it is listed.
Can you let me know, if this is a problem with the board or os there a way that I could bring it back to the working state? I have tried reseting the board couple of times and still it doesn't work.

With what? The RESET button? That just literally resets the 328p. No different than power cycling. If you mean "resetting" by another means, please describe.

You did something else to cause a problem. "Using a BLE shield" would do nothing to 16u2 usb-to-serial chip on the board, or anything to do with the drivers built into the OS.
Most likely, you were changing connections while the affected boards were powered and possibly damaged the 16u2.
