Magic Gel and Arduino

Hey guys,

Have a project where I will need to put an arduino in an IP68 rated box and bury it underground. When I do normal electrical connections in this manner I use Magic Gel such as this http://www.tradeelectrical.com/magic-gel-p-341.html to stop condensation forming and shorting out the circuit. I was wondering if anyone has done anything like this before, my main concern would be heat, I know that Arduino produces very little, but if it can't breath at all it might suffer.

Any reason that anyone can think of that this wouldnt work?

Thanks guys

Oli

Powered from Vin? Or 5V / USB?

If you put the processor into sleep (assuming your project allows this) it can consume as little as 100 nA of power. I imagine the heat generated would be negligible, and could be dissipated into the earth around, which in any case is likely to be cooler than an ordinary outdoor day.
