Make a Magnetic/RFID card?

Hello everyone,

I would like to create a Magnetic/RFID card in a totally different shape than those flat wide pieces of plastic.
For example I would like to carry it as arm wrest, or a ring.

So you don't have to go out and grab my card all the time, and just can slide your arm on the reader.

I'm just not sure how to start.. Could I use some kind of chip and use it as memory for the information of the card.
Also I guess the Magnetic/RFID design could be smaller than it is, it doesn't need to be as wide.

Thanks in advance for your guys help!

Cheers,

This doesn't sound like an Arduino problem. You might get better results asking on a forum about RFID transponders, if there is such a thing.

instead of the card.. take on of the key fobs.. ad break it open.. (or search on the net for others who have done so)..

see how big the stuff is...and where you can cram it in on other items.

I just watched an RFID door system vid whre he embedded the RFID 'module' into a tiny little toy made for a key chain.

alternately.. maybe the whole 'card' isnt needed? and possibly trim away and shape as needed?

Parallax sells an RFID card reader to work with their BS2 modules. You might start
over there to get info about these devices.

You can get very small RFID tokens that they use to inject into pets. You could build these into diffrent things.

There are already watch type RFID tags available, as well as several other designs. What frequency tag do you want to work with?

All the RFID readers where I used to work were at waist level for me, so I just made an exterior pocket in my wallet for it. Didn't even have to take the wallet out of my pocket. There were many confused customers that attempted to use an RFID locked door right behind me though.

You could try embedding one of those tiny, glass encased RFID chips into a wristband or something.
