Make a mini speaker waterresistant

Hi all,

i'm building a project with small gothic lamps that i printed (resin). I am adding a speaker to the lamps that has a diameter of 40mm. These speakers are not waterproof. Has any of you ever used a speaker outside that wasn't waterproof and how did you protect the speaker from moist and (indirect) rain?

I hope someone has any experience on this matter

Kind regards,

Bart

How mini speaker work with iPad or a Tablet ?

It will be connected to an audio board through a cat6 cable of around 2m.

Consider placing it into a box or a zip lock type bag. Have enough air in the container so the cone does not come in contact with the bag.

Actually replace the air with dry air from a canister that is used to blow dust out of stuff. You want to avoid air with moisture because at dew point, you get water on the speaker metal parts and then it is not water resistant.

As i cant use an airtight box to put the speaker in, i will not be using the airduster option although i will use that tip in another project i'm working on

I will use small plastic bags with a strip on top .

Sometimes the solution is this simple. Thank you!
