Make Arduino Due and Android communicate each other

Hi all, I've just bought an Arduino Due to place side by side my Mega2560. Due's specs are very interesting, and in particular the possibility to connect to an Android phone/tablet.

Could anybody please direct me to a guide (in this website or somewhere else... I would prefer something to read than a youtube video) to get those two appliances communicate each other ? In particular, I'm interested in exchanging simple text messages, in order to allow android to drive some board's behaviour.

Thanks a lot,

Alvise

This is a rather large topic.

In general, you might find this link useful: http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/ArduinoDue.

You will have to communicate to the andriod device through the USB port. From the android side this can be done as: http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/usb/UsbDevice.html.

Thanks SM535, useful answer... I'll try it out.
