Hello, i have recently started using an Arduino and I have the Arduino r3 kit at home and I wanted to try and make a keyboard as a project for school i was wondering if anyone knew how to actually do that without soldering. I have a plethora of parts at my school and teachers who are willing to order more. thank you
Is the keyboard going to be permanent or just a temporary project ?
It will call for a jungle of lab cables and breadboarding. That's asking for trouble.
Is the schematics clear and code ready?
whatever will be the most efficient without soldering, I do not have any code yet but I plan on doing that one I get the build done.
it is for a school project, so that's why no soldering and it will most likely be taken apart by my teacher when this school years up but I plan on also making one at home
Without soldering it will be a rats nest at best
What do you intend to use a keys for the keyboard and what type of connectors do they have on them ?
I was also thinking about building a stream deck do you think that would be easier?
ok I think this might be easier to build and code, what about building a mouse?
Make it really easy and just blink an LED
ok so, I plan on building a keyboard with just the number keys and spacebar, I'm going to 3dpring key caps, case, ect, but because I cant solder, I plan on using two breadboards with the Arduino tactile buttons all wired up with backlight. while it will be a rats nest with those wires that is my only option.
I sure hope you take a massive amount of notes while building this thing!
Thank you, i will be thoroughly documenting it and share my results here, fyi if everything goes well i will try and make one with MUCH nicer components
