Hello all, I was wondering if someone would be able to help me program an arduino to run a brass annealing machine. I was kinda planning on getting 2 12v motors and a 2 solid pvc chunks to help feed and rotate brass. I already have the case picked out and was going to use aluminium angle iron as a hopper. was also wondering about if there was an arduino package that would better suite me and also be easy for a beginner to setup and program.
You have not told us what you want the Arduino to do.
The Uno is the best starter board because most software and add-ons work with it.
If you want the Arduino to control a motor then you will need a motor driver between the Arduino and the motor as an Arduino cannot control the large currents needed by a motor.

Arduinos are all programmed in a very similar way. We recommend that you start with any of them, download the program development software, and work your way through the provided examples to learn the programming language and special features of the boards.
For example, learn to blink an LED, read a switch, read a voltage or a temperature sensor -- all of which you will need for your project.
Is this for the necks of firearm cartridge cases? It looks like those machines just move the cases past a torch at the right speed to heat the neck to the right degree to cause annealing.
You may get some ideas/guidance by doing a site search for 'anneal'. Others have been on this road already.

If that is the case I do not wish to participate any more in this Thread.
