Hello to all. New member here with a project that I could use some input on. I wish to setup a wireless or hardwired camera system to monitor my lane as I live in a remote area and others in the area have had thievery issues. What I need to do is have a camera track a vehicle as though there were someone controlling the camera - car stops, camera stops. Car moves, camera moves. It would be great to have it mimic the speed of vehicle as well. I have an uno and microchip resources and dont think I would have problems with code or hardware but am lacking a way to sense the mass of car moving. I though about passive infared or buried cable but those would probly be to jerky/clunky. The camera will be mounted on a post and track said vehicle via worm drive and if I can get it functional I will have three units working in sync (long lane). Sorry if this is the wrong forum or if I left out some vital info or an obvious answer to my own prob. Thank you also for ideas. Scott.
cool what can be done with video processing.
I think the video is monitored and movement is seen in software. and then the video processing sends the signal to move the camera.
Hey! Thank you so much for your reply to my post. What they are doing in that video is beyond my capabilities (to date...) and pretty cool but I think you gave me the answer I was looking for. I downloaded an ebook on the processing language and it has a chapter on blob recognition. I just skimmed over it before but I think that it is what I am looking for. I am going to dig into it now and see. No sensor or hardware to buy, just use software. Thanks for nudging me in the right direction.....
