Matching stepper motor to driver

I have a 2 phase stepper motor that says it draws 2A/phase. Should the driver output be able to handle those 2A or the total draw from both phases, plus a safety margin? Would this driver be enough?

Yes. Stepper drivers are usually rated by maximum continuous current per winding or phase, and the one linked can handle up to 4 Amperes/winding.
