Max range for data?

Hi all, i want to know if a 3/3.5m long wire could efficiently pass data from an ultrasonic range sensor module to the Arduino, if not, is there a way to? Cheers

What frequency of signal do you want to pass down the wire?

Preferably around 50-75hz or enough to get a reliable reading onto an LCD Display

Now I don't know any more what you want.

Ultrasound sensor - long wire - Arduino - long wire - display? Doesn't make sense.

What sensor?
What display?
What do you think of as "50-75 Hz data"? (that's super slow for digital data transfer; super fast for anything a human has to read).

It will probably be fine. Those are low frequencies (for electronics) and as long as the output impedance of the sensor isn't too high it should work. ...Think about the length of telephone & Internet wires or cable TV wires.

(High impedance is more prone to noise pickup, and RF frequencies require an impedance-matched cable.)
